Widowed mother of four orphans appeals for your help

Staff from Basra Branch visited family of the widow Hajer, A. K.  Her and her four orphans live in a makeshift house that lacks many essential amenities which she cannot afford to provide due to her difficult financial situation.

Hajer’s husband died recently in a car accident.  He left her widowed with four orphans to provide for.   All the children attend school.

The family live in a difficult and deplorable situation.  They do not have any salary or financial income apart from some support they receive from kind, benevolent people.  This is not enough to meet their needs.

The widow mentioned that she has the ability to start a small business selling household cleaning products.  This could support the cost of providing for her orphans,  but she needs startup capital to setup her business.

This family is in dire need of the below support:

• Ongoing orphan sponsorship of 25,000 IQD ( approx. £15 ) per month for each orphan. (X4)
• A donation of 50,000 IQD ( approx. £30 ) to buy foodstuffs.
• A donation of 200,000 IQD ( approx. £115 ) to buy a washing machine.
• A donation of 200,000 IQD ( approx. £115 ) to buy a cooker.
• A donation of 300,000 IQD ( approx. £170 ) to buy a refrigerator.
• A donation of 500,000 IQD ( approx. £300 ) to start the business.

Branch staff and the widow hope that merciful and humanitarian people will extend a helping hand so that this family can overcome their difficult circumstances.
