Struggling Mother of six orphans needs your support
Staff from Najaf Branch paid a follow-up visit to the family of Mrs. Intikal A. A. She lives in a house in a slum area together with her orphans.
Her husband died of a heart attack, leaving six orphans in her charge. He had nothing to leave for these poor orphans. The widow's family gave her one room to house her and her children. The house is in a very bad condition. The walls for the house are dilapidated, which resulted in the roof of the room falling down. Intikal was forced to repair the roof as best as she could, as she could not afford to have it rebuilt.
Intikal is a struggling woman. She endeavors to raise her orphans as best as she can under her difficult circumstances. She has no source of income except for the Social Welfare Allowance which she receives, which only covers some of the basic needs of this family. She is responsible to pay the tuition fees for the children who continue to study.
One child suffers with epilepsy, In addition, her daughter was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in the neck, which increased her burden of additional treatment expenses.
