Poor Mother of six orphans appeals for help to overcome difficulties.

Our staff visited the widow Aliya Y.M. and her family of six orphans.  They live under harsh conditions in a slum area.  Their small dilapidated house does not protect them either from the heat of summer or from the coldness of winter.

Aliya’s husband died more than two years ago and left her to provide for the six orphans. Their life is miserable.  There is no breadwinner, or income.  They rely on a small Social Service Allowance and the help of kind benefactors. Despite their poverty, the orphans are continuing with their studies.

On a tour of the house the extent of damage to the ceilings, walls and the kitchen was noticed.  It lacks the basic necessities of normal life.

To help this family, they need:

• Ongoing orphan sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) per month for each orphan. (x6)

• A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £170) to buy a refrigerator.
• A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a cooker.
• A donation of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) to buy a heater.

The widow's family appeals to benevolent people to help provide some of her needs.
