Poverty sticken mother appeals  for help

Staff from the branch visited the family of Iltifat A. L.  to assess their living conditions and to understand the challenges they are facing.

They are part of a family of eight individuals, all living together in a slum house.  The house lacks many essential necessities, which they are unable to buy due to their extreme poverty.

The father suffers from a kidney disease.  This limits his mobility, and as a result thereof, he is unable to work. Two of lltifat’s children suffer permanent illnesses, one of them has ‘Down Syndrome’ and the other suffers from ‘Strabismus’.

This family suffers from severe poverty. They live under extremely harsh conditions. They desperately need someone to extend a helping hand, and to support them.  They have no source of living or an income other than small donations they receive from other people, which is insufficient to meet their needs.

To help this family, they need:

• A donation of 100,000 IQD (approx. £65) to buy clothes.
• A donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £95) to buy a television.
• A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £125) to buy a cooker.
• A donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £155) to buy a washing machine.

Staff from the branch and the family beseech people of mercy and humanity to extend them a helping hand to overcome some of their life’s difficulties.
