Disabled Father struggles to support large family

Staff from Basra Branch visited the family of Mr. Sabah A. A.  They discovered that the family consists of eight members, some of which attend school, and others who stay with relatives from time to time.

The family inherited a house that lacks some basic commodities.  They are unable to purchase these items because of their poverty.

The father suffers from atherosclerosis, which led to the amputation of both of his legs. The disease is ongoing, and he requires monthly treatment that costs 25,000 IQD (approx. £15) a time.

This family suffers daily as a result of the hardships in life that they face. They do not have any financial income except for social welfare assistance of 150,000 IQD (approx. £90) per month.  Apart from this they are reliant on financial support from kind benefactors.  Sadly, this is not enough to meet their basic needs.

To help this family, they need:

• Ongoing medical sponsorship of 25,000 IQD (approx. £15) per month.
• A donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a television.
• A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £125) to buy a cooker.
• A donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £155) to buy a washing machine.
