Destitute mother of four orphans appeals for help
Staff from Basra Branch paid a visit to the widow Sundus H. A. and her family. They found that she lives with her orphans in a rented house that costs 150,000 IQD (approx. £90) per month. The house lacks some basic necessities, which she cannot provide due to her poor financial condition.
Over time, she has accumulated house rent debts and she does not have the financial means to pay off her debts.
The mother took on custody of her four orphans after her husband passed away. Some of her children attend school.
Sundus used to work as a house cleaner in other people’s homes. When her health declined, she was no longer able to earn an income this way. She suffers from chronic diabetes, which makes her very tired, and sometimes unable to leave the house.
The family does not have any source of financial income. They rely on the generosity of some good people helping them out financially. This is insufficient to meet their needs.
The mother and her four orphans suffer a life full of difficulties and troubles. Sundus needs someone who can support her and the children.
