Family, weary of destitution and poverty, need help
Staff from Najaf Branch visited the family of Rajiha J. T. to inspect their difficult living conditions.
This woman takes care of eight children. Her husband earns a meagre living by collecting metal cans and junk. Due to their extremely poor situation, they live in a slum area that lacks the most basic necessities for living.
Most of the children continue to study despite their poverty. The family does not receive a social benefit allowance, and the father works to earn whatever income he can. Their living conditions are extremely bad - the roof of the house is made from pieces of cardboard and sticks of wood, and the walls of the rooms are full of damp. The family do not have the financial ability to repair their home and to make it fit for living.
