Widow and five orphans appeal for help

Our staff visited the home of the widow Layla. H.  She lives with her five orphans in one small room.  The room lacks the most basic necessities. Somehow the family manages to survive on a small social welfare allowance that they receive.  This is insufficient to provide for all their needs.

The father died a year ago in Iraq following a traffic accident.  Prior to this, he had been working and earning a daily wage to support his family.  He did not have a fixed salary. After his death, his wife became solely responsible for the care and wellbeing of their children, four of whom still attend school.

The family suffers from their dire circumstances. 

They need: 

- Ongoing Monthly Sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month per orphan (x5)

- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a freezer.

- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a washing machine.

-A donation of 100.000 IQD (£60) to buy foodstuffs.

- A donation of 75.000 IQD (approx. £45) to purchase an electric oven.

We hope that compassionate benefactors will provide support to this family to enable them to overcome part of their difficult situation.
