Support a needy woman to become self-sufficient

When staff from Basra Branch visited a poor lady, Anwar. M. R and her family, they discovered that the family consists of three members living in a house with no basic amenities.  This family does not have any source of regular income.  They rely of the support they receive from time to time from kind benefactors.  This is not enough to cover their living costs or medical treatment expenses.

When the poor lady separated from her husband, she was left to take care of her elderly parents, as well as her sister who suffers from chronic diseases. After her mother died due to illness, Anwar became solely responsible for providing for her family.

As Anwar continues to endure severe living conditions, she approached Shakiry Charity for help.

She is keen to work, and willing to turn part of their house into a small shop in order to sell simple items to support herself and the family.  But, to do so, she needs financial support to start her project.

To help this family have a chance in life, their needs are:

- A donation of 75.000 IQD (approx. £45) to buy a water heater.

- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a cooker

- A donation of 300.000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a freezer.

- A donation of 500.000 IQD (300) towards equipping and stocking the shop.

We appeal to people of mercy and humanity to provide assistance to this needy family, and to make available the means to help them overcome their dire situation.
