Needy family appeals to people of mercy for help

Basra Branch staff visited the family of Abd A.A.R. who looks after his son’s orphans. 

They established that the family consists of five members.  They live in a house belonging to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.  The house lacks the most basic amenities.

This family has no income except for small donations that they receive from benevolent people, from time to time.  This is not enough to meet their needs.

Their son died in a traffic accident and left three school-going orphans.  Their grandfather bears all their responsibilities alone. 

The family faces very harsh conditions and they need a helping hand. 

Their needs are as follows: 

- Ongoing monthly Sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month per orphan (x3)

- A Donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) for the purchase of mattresses.

- A Donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a cooker.

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

We hope that people of compassion will reach out to provide this family with the help they need, in order to overcome even a small part of their difficulties.
