Poor widow’s ongoing cry for financial support

Republish of a previous distress call from a family in need.

As part of the ongoing field visitation program, staff from Karbala Branch visited the house of a needy widow, Bushra A.M.

During the visit, staff established that this family lives in a rental house costing 200.000 IQD (approx. £115) per month.  The house lacks the most basic amenities to live a decent life. 

Bushra shares the house with her daughter-in-law and her children who were abandoned by their father because of their difficult circumstances.

The family is displaced from their area of residence in Jurf Al-Sakhar. When they were forced to leave, they were unable to carry anything with them.

 This family needs:

- Monthly sponsorship for the orphans of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per orphan per month (x2)

- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a washing machine.

- Donations to enable the family to buy a sewing machine, and begin to make and sell clothing to earn a living

Staff from the branch appeal to people of charity to give hope to this family by extending a helping hand
