Widow suffering, poverty and deprivation, appeals to benefactors for help

Staff from Basra Branch visited the widow, Zainab. S. A. and her family.  They discovered that the family consists of four members: the mother and her three orphans. 

They live in a rented home, similar to a caravan, for which they pay 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) per month.

Following the death of her husband, the mother became solely responsible for the upbringing of her three orphaned children.  All of the orphans are in full time education, and are in need of school supplies.

The family has no source of income apart from a small social welfare allowance that Zainab receives.  This is not enough to pay for rent and provide for their household necessities. 

The widow and her orphans live under extremely harsh conditions.

This family needs ...

-  Ongoing monthly sponsorship for the orphans of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x3) per month.

-  A donation of 75.000 IQD (approx. £45) to buy a water heater.

-  A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy mattresses.

We hope that people of compassion and humanity will provide aid to the family to help them overcome even a small part of their daily hardships.
