Destitute widow and her two orphans appeal for help 

Staff from Basra Branch paid a visit to the widow Sahar. S.G, and her family.  They discovered that the widow lives in a dilapidated house belonging to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, together with her two orphans.  They are existing under very difficult conditions.

Sahar’s husband died recently.  The widow lives alone without a bread-winner to provide for her and her two children.  She bears the responsibility for providing for her children.  They do not have any source income or social allowance, and rely solely on donations from benevolent people.  This is not enough to meet their needs.

The widow suffers from heart valve prolapse. She needs to undergo surgery and receive monthly treatments.

This family’s home lacks the most basic household necessities, as they cannot afford to buy such things.

The family needs ...

- Monthly sponsorship of 25,000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x2) per month.

- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A donation of 125.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a TV screen.
