Suffering widow and her two orphans appeal to benefactors for help. 

Staff from Basra Branch visited the family of the widow Zahra K M.   They found that the family consists of the mother and her two young children, who live in a single, small room, which they rent.  This family suffers from extremely poor living conditions. 

After the death of her husband, Zahra assumed sole responsibility for her two children. Due to their poverty, she cannot provide for their basic needs. Only recently she started receiving a small social welfare allowance. 

Zahra is suffering from a fractured bone.  She urgently needs an operation, the cost of which is five million IQD (approx. £2995).  She cannot even afford to pay for the tests she needs to have prior to the operation.

This family is in dire straits.  They are in urgent need of: 

- Monthly sponsorship for the two orphans of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month per orphan (x2)

- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a refrigerator.

- A donation towards the cost of Zahra’s medical costs.

We ask benefactors to support this family overcome some of their difficulties.
