Small family living in poverty, appeals for help

A field visit to a needy family to review their living conditions. 

Basra Branch staff undertook a field visit to review the living conditions of a poor lady Wafa R and her family.  They discovered that the family consists of three members: the mother, the father and their son. The family lives in a house that was built without planning permission.  Their home lacks many basic household essentials. 

The mother suffers as a result of a stroke and needs continuous treatment.  The son suffers from clogged arteries and requires a catheter operation. But, due to their poverty, the family cannot afford the costs of the related medical treatments. They have no source of income, apart from help that they receive from time to time, from generous benefactors.  Sadly this is not enough to provide for their needs.

This family needs: 

-        Ongoing medical sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month

-        A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy an air cooler.

-        A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a refrigerator.

-        A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

We appeal to people of compassion and generosity to help this family overcome even a small part of their difficult situation.
