Widow and her five orphans appeal for support

Staff from Najaf Branch visited the family of the widow Maryam M. M.  She lives in a house in a slum area with her five orphans. Her husband died in a traffic accident.

Four of her orphans are in full time education. Her youngest child is one and a half. The family has no source of income except for a social welfare allowance of 325.000 IQD (approx. £190) which does not cover their living costs.

The ceiling of one of the rooms, is made of wood sticks and pieces of cardboard and nylon.  It does not protect them from the cold of winter and the heat of summer. The house lacks basic requirements for a decent living.

This family needs

-A donation of 350.000 IQD (approx. £210) to repair the ceiling of the room. 

-A donation of 350.000 IQD (approx. £210) to buy a refrigerator. 

-A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine. 

-A financial assistance of 50.000 IQDs... to purchase an air cooler.

Staff from the branch hope that benevolent, kind hearted people will reach out and support Maryam and her children.
