Destitute Orphans in need of financial support

Staff from Basra Branch visited the home of the widow Hashemite J.K. and her family.  They established that the family consists of four members, the mother and her three orphans, all school children. The live in a simple agricultural home.  Hashemite has not been able to provide for their basic needs due to the family’s poor financial situation. They receive no means of subsistence other than a simple social welfare allowance.

Following the tragic death of the father in a traffic accident, the orphans were left in the custody of their mother. She bears all the responsibilities alone in terms of providing for their school equipment as well as household needs. 

One of her daughters suffers from "chronic diabetes" and needs to have regular monthly medical treatment, the cost of which is 150,000 IQD (approx. £90). From time to time, when the mother is unable to provide for the cost of the treatment, her daughter's health worsens, forcing the mother to sell home appliances.

Through the support of Al-Shakiry Charity Foundation, this poor widow appeals to people of humanity and compassion for assistance. 

This family needs:

- Ongoing monthly orphan support of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x3) per month

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy cooling fans.

- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 125.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a TV screen

We hope that benevolent people will not hesitate to provide assistance to this family, to alleviate even a small part of their suffering.
