Widow and a mother of four daughters appeals for help

 

Staff paid a field visit to the widow, Fatima T.L. and her family of orphans in order to survey their suffering and hardship. 

The family consists of five members: the mother and her four daughters, all who are still in education. The family lives in a rented accommodation paying 250,000 IQD (approx. £150) per month.

The father fell and died instantly in an accident whilst working on a construction project.  He left the orphans in the care of their mother, who bears full responsibility for their wellbeing and future.

Fatima does not receive a salary or have any other source of income.  She relies on simple alms from generous people. She stated that what she receives is not enough to meet their basic needs. 

The family lacks the simplest of household necessities.  With the support of Al-Shakiry charity, the mother appeals to good people to extend a helping hand, to reach out and help improve the lives of her daughters through providing for their education.

This family needs: 

- Regular monthly Orphan Sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x 4)

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy mattresses.

- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (for £60) for the purchase of school supplies.
