Suffering family of Orphans appeal for help
Staff from Basra Branch paid a visit to the widow Yusra A.J. and her family
This family consists of seven members. They live in a house which was built without permission and it lacks the most basic household amenities.
This family lives in extreme hardship. Following the death of their father, the mother took responsibility for her orphans. Some of the children are severely sick; one suffers from "sickle cell anemia", another from "diabetes" and the third from "myopia". All of them need monthly treatment at a financial cost which the mother cannot provide.
Four children are in full time education including college, preparatory and primary education. The mother cannot afford the costs of stationery and transportation for the children to get to school. According to her, she had to sell some of their few household items in order to provide for her orphans.
As Yusra has no financial means to provide for their needs, she approached Al-Shakiry Charity Basra Branch, appealing for help.
This family desperately needs:
- Monthly sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx £15) per month, per orphan (x4)
- Monthly sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per month to pay medical costs
- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to repair the house.
- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £ 150) to buy a refrigerator.
We hope that people of charity and humanity would help alleviate the suffering of this family.
