Widow and mother of two children appeals for help

Staff from Basra Branch undertook a field visit to assess the needs of the widow Raja A. A and her family.

The family consists of three members: the mother and her two children.  Following the death of her husband, the widow assumed responsibility for her orphans. They have no pension or source of income apart from a small social welfare benefit, which is not enough to cover the expenses of the children.

The family lives in a simple house in a rural area.  The house and land was donated to them by people of charity.  However, their home lacks several basic household essentials, which Raja cannot provide because of her difficult financial situation.

This family needs:

- Ongoing monthly orphan sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month per orphan (x2)

- A donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £105) to buy a cooker.

-A donation of 125.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a TV screen.

We ask benefactors to reach out and provide assistance to this family in order to help them improve their living conditions.
