Awareness seminar for widows and poor women

 

Under the guidance of senior management from Shakiry Charity, London, Najaf Branch held an awareness seminar focussing on the phenomenon of fraud.  

In particular, poor individuals and families, are exposed to this phenomenon.  Fraudulent individuals and companies exploit their vulnerability, promising to provide and meet their most urgent needs. Some parties even claim to be charitable institutions supporting the poor, whilst defrauding families into exposing their banking card details to “receive” financial and in-kind assistance.

As explained by Mr. Abdul Saheb Riad Kabba, director of the branch, it is important to make sure that those parties intending to help families, are genuine and not fake institutions. 

Miss Nada Salam Musa, also participated in the symposium.  She stressed the importance of creating awareness among women, enforcing the need for their basic rights to be respected. Iraqi women, in particular (especially widows, divorcees and abandoned women) hold the responsibility to raise healthy generations, capable of facing crises and the realities of difficult life situations.

In conclusion, the families expressed their thanks and appreciation to the donors and workers of Al-Shakiry Charity, for meeting their needs and providing them with the necessary support, asking God Almighty to guide them.
