Humanitarian Food Campaign

 

In our endeavours to meet our aims and objectives, and to provide relief from suffering and hardship, Shakiry Charity’s fundraising campaigns are ongoing daily. 

During the blessed months of Rajab, Shaaban and Ramada, staff and volunteers from our Head Office in London, and our Branches in Iraq (Baghdad, Sadr City, Bayaa, Najaf, Basra, Karbala and Grayaat) accelerate their fundraising drives and initiatives to focus extensively on our humanitarian campaign to raise donations and distribute food baskets to poor, hungry families.  

The cost of donating a family food basket is 50.000 IQD (approx. £30).  For many people this is not a significant amount of money, and in many instances, constitutes a quick daily top-up shop.  But, for a needy person in Iraq, receiving a food basket, is the difference of going to bed hungry or satisfied.
