Widow and orphans experiencing hardship and difficulties appeal for help

 

Staff from Najaf Branch visited the widow Zainab D.S. and her family. This family consists of six orphans in addition to their mother, who bears sole responsibility for their care and welfare.

The widow and her orphans live in a house that lacks most basic necessities.  The walls of the house are full of moisture and cracks.  Zainab lacks the means to repair this situation.

Most of the orphans still attend full time education: primary, intermediate and preparatory stages.  They all need school supplies and transportation expenses.

This family has no source of income except for a social welfare benefit of 320.000 IQD (approx. £190) through which the widow utilizes to provide for the family's most basic needs.

This family suffers from severe living conditions and needs:

- Monthly Orphan Sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per orphan (x6)

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A Donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to purchase school supplies.

- A Donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy mattresses and blankets.
