Basra Branch:
Family suffering from poverty and disease appeal for help
Staff from Basra Branch visited the family of Mr Ibrahim M.A. The family consists of six members. They used to live in a makeshift house, but were notified to vacate the premises. Fortunately some benevolent people contributed towards providing them with temporary accommodation belonging to the Husseiniya shrine.
Ibrahim’s four children all suffer from sickle cell anaemia. They need to undergo splenectomy operations, and require blood transfusions every 25 days, alongside treatment costing 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) for each child.
The mother separated from her husband and left the house as she was unable to care for her four sick children.
The man re-married and his new wife does her best to help with the household duties and the care of the family in every aspect.
The four children are all in full time education, and require school supplies.
To assist this family, they need:
- Medical Sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per orphan (x4) per month
- A Donation of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) to purchase an electric oven.
- A Donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy mattresses.
- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.
- A Donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a refrigerator.
- A Donation of 125.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a TV.
We hope that benefactors will look with compassion at the difficult situation this family is facing, and will reach out to provide them with a helping hand.
May God bless you.
