Widowed mother of three orphans appeals for financial support

Staff from Basra Branch visited the widow Bushra, S.S. and her family.

The family consists of four members: the mother and her three orphans. They live in a house, built without planning permission, for which they pay a monthly rental of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120).  The house lacks the most basic household essentials which they cannot afford to buy due to their poor financial situation.

The family has no source of income except for support from the mother's brother.  He earns a minimal wage and helps them with food, drink, and house rent as much as is possible.

Bushra’s husband died a year ago and the widow has been left unsure of how to provide for her orphans, who are all in fulltime education. She bears full responsibility for their needs.

The family suffers from extremely difficult conditions.  Bushar approached Al-Shakiry Charity, Basra Branch seeking help to provide for her family.

To support the family, they need...

- Ongoing monthly Sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x3) per month.

- A Donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £105) to buy a washing machine.

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a cooker.

- A Donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a refrigerator.
