Family suffering disease and poverty appeal to benevolent people  

Staff from Najaf Branch visited the family of a poor woman Wijdan T.A. She lives with her sick husband and four children in a house in a slum area. Their home lacks the most basic essentials.

The husband suffered a stroke and needs treatment. All the children are still in education despite the family’s poverty.  The mother, herself, drives her daughters to school as she cannot afford to pay school transportation fares.  One of the daughters suffers from viral hepatitis and requires regular treatment at a cost of15,000 IQD (approx. £10) per treatment.

The family has no source of income other than financial support they receive from good-hearted people and relatives.  This is insufficient to meet their needs. This family lives under very difficult conditions and, as such, Wijdan approached Al-Shakiry Charity in an endeavour to appeal to kind benefactors for financial support.

To help this family, they need:

- Ongoing monthly Medical Sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) to pay the cost of the medical treatments.

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A Donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to purchase covers and mattresses.

Staff from Najaf Branch hope that people of charity will not fail to extend a helping hand to this family in order to provide for their needs.
