Impoverished, sick family appeals to people of mercy for help

Basra Branch staff visited the family of Mr. Ibrahim M.A. This family consists of six members.  They used to live in a makeshift house, but were notified to vacate the premises. Some benevolent people contributed to providing them with temporary accommodation belonging to the Husseiniya shrine.

The father's four children all suffer from sickle cell anaemia.  They require splenectomy operations, as well as blood transfusions every 25 days, alongside treatment costing 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) per each child.

The mother separated from her husband and left the house because she was unable to care for her four sick children.

The man re-married and his new wife does her best to help with the household duties and the care of the family, in every aspect.

The four children are still in full time education and require school supplies.

To assist this family, they need:

- Ongoing monthly medical Sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per child (x4)

- A Donation of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) to purchase an electric oven.

- A Donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy mattresses.

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A Donation of 250.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a refrigerator.

- A Donation of 125.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a TV.  

We hope that benefactors will look upon the difficult situation this family is facing, and will provide them with a helping hand.
