Visit of Dr. Eng. Laith Kubba to Shakiry Charity

Earlier this year, Dr. Eng. Laith Kubba visited the London headquarters of Shakiry Charity for Social Solidarity where he was warmly welcomed by Mr. Samir Bati, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Charity Branches in Iraq. Mr. Bati expressed his deep appreciation for Dr. Kubba’s visit, recognizing his distinguished contributions to cultural and humanitarian work, particularly in supporting vulnerable families and empowering youth.

At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Kubba shared his admiration for the foundation’s humanitarian projects and programmes, which aim to serve disadvantaged families and orphans. He engaged in thoughtful discussion about specific initiatives and their methods of implementation.

Mr. Bati presented an overview of Shakiry Charity’s charitable programmes, their outcomes, and plans. He highlighted the pivotal role of the esteemed founder and chairman of the board, Mr. Abdul Sahib Shakiry, whose vision and commitment continue to guide and sustain the charity’s efforts.

Towards the end of the meeting, Dr. Kubba expressed particular interest in the Charitable Bank programme, which supports small-scale income-generating projects for underprivileged families. This initiative enables beneficiaries to access self-employment opportunities that strengthen their self-reliance.

As a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Kubba donated £8,000 to the programme and pledged a second donation of an equal amount. These contributions were dedicated in memory of the late Mr. Ihsan Baqir Al-Dujaily and his late mother, with heartfelt hopes that they bring blessings and mercy upon their souls.

In conclusion, Mr. Bati extended sincere thanks to Dr. Kubba for his noble support.  He invited Dr Kubba to maintain close collaboration with Shakiry Charity, noting the value of his expertise in the humanitarian field. He wished Dr. Kubba continued health, well-being, and success in all his endeavours.
