Najaf Branch:
Heartfelt Appeal for a Struggling Widow and Her Six Orphans
The Branch staff recently visited the family of widow Malal J.M. She lives with her six orphaned children in a cramped home within a densely populated slum. Their living conditions are harsh, and the house lacks many of the most basic necessities, which the mother cannot afford due to overwhelming poverty.
Since the death of her husband, Malal has taken on full responsibility for her children’s care. All six are enrolled in full-time education. The family survives on a modest social welfare allowance of 325,000 IQD (approx. £195), but this is far from sufficient to meet their daily needs. To contribute, one of her sons collects and sells metal cans, but the income is minimal.
This family lives a life marked by hardship, resilience, and a quiet plea for support.
To improve their living conditions and bring dignity back to their household, they urgently need:
The Branch staff, along with the widow and her children, appeal to compassionate individuals for support to help them rebuild their lives and create a safer, more hopeful environment for the children to grow.
