Desperate widow appeals to benefactors for assistance.

Staff from Basra Branch visited the widow, Hanaa A.H.

Her family, consists of four members.  They live in a house built without planning permission.  The house is dilapidated and requires repairs to the walls and metal roof, which does not provide protection from the rain or the summer heat.

The family are in need of basic household necessities, which they cannot afford due to their poor financial situation. They have no regular income other than a social welfare benefit of 120,000 IQD (approx. £72) per month.

The widow's husband passed away four months ago, leaving the orphans in their mother’s care, and she now bears their responsibilities alone. One of her children suffers from anaemia and needs regular medical checkups and medication.

Another child is still in full-time education and needs school supplies.

The family lives under very harsh and difficult conditions and needs support.

Assistance needed for this family includes:

- Ongoing monthly orphan sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan per month (x3)

- A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £180) to purchase materials to repair the roof of the house.

- A donation of 125,000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a water cooler.

- A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a freezer.
