Widow and her orphans continue to appeal for financial assistance

Staff from Najaf Branch paid a follow-up visit to assess the situation of the widow Duaa GH.J and her family.  They found that Duaa and her two orphans were still living in an old, dilapidated house.

The widow's husband passed away in a fire accident.  As a widow, she was left solely responsible for the care of her children, both still attend school.

They live in a rented accommodation costing them 250,000 IQD (approx. £150) per month.  The house lacks many essential supplies, which Duaa cannot afford to buy.

The family receives a social care benefit of 200,000 IQD (approximately £120), an amount that is insufficient to meet their basic living needs. Despite these challenges, the widow is striving to improve her family’s circumstances by utilising the household supplies she receives for domestic work and by offering her services to acquaintances and interested individuals.

To assist this family, they need:

- Ongoing monthly Orphan Sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) per orphan (x2) per month.
- A Donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £120) to purchase a stove.
- A Donation of 350,000 IQD (approx. £210) to buy a fridge.
- A Donation of 100,000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy a heater.

The branch staff appeal to charitable people to extend a helping hand to this widow and her orphans, and may God reward all benefactors.
