Basra Branch:
Field visit to a family of orphans
Team members from Basra Branch conducted a field visit to assess the living conditions of Alaa A.M and his family of orphans. They discovered that Alaa lost his wife to cancer, and that he is now solely responsible for the care and wellbeing of his six sons and daughters.
The father was previously able to support his family, as he had a construction job. But now he is unemployed. In desperation this struggling father turned to Shakiry Charity to seek support from the suffering and poor living conditions him and his family are enduring.
Alaa is willing to work to earn an income. He has expressed his readiness to work in a barbershop, with which he is familiar, in order to support his family in improving their living conditions. Three of his children still attend school, and their elder sister takes care of them.
To support this family, they need:
- Monthly Sponsorship for two orphans of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) per month per orphan (x2)
- A Donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy a refrigerator.
- A Donation of 100,000 IQD (approx. £60) to buy a stove.
The branch staff and management call upon generous people to support this family in their hardship, and may God reward charitable people for their help.
