Sick man appeals to people of goodwill and benevolence

Staff from Basra branch visited Ahmed, G.Y, a poor man who is responsible for the support of his family of three children and a sick wife.  The family originally struggled to manage the wife's cancer, but now the father is also bedridden. The children still attend full time education.

Ahmed used to work as an employee in a local hospital, but he can now no longer work.  He has no income, and neither does he receive any social security allowance or pension.

Ahmed suffers from chronic and severe heart disease.  He relies on the use of a cardiac resuscitation device (defibrillator) to live.  He now desperately seeks financial support/donations to enable him to buy a new life saving battery for the device.

A new battery costs 2,000,000 IQD (approx. £1200).  Any/All donations toward this amount will be most sincerely appreciated.
