Widow appeals to benevolent people for help

Staff from Basra Branch visited the widow, Maryam J. M, and her four children.  They live in a rented house costing 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) per month.  The children are still in full-time education and are excelling academically.

One of her children suffers from Thalassemia + sickle cell, and requires special treatments and ongoing lifelong blood transfusions.

This family is facing very difficult living conditions; they have no financial income other than a social welfare benefit, which does not cover their living expenses and the educational costs for the children.

In desperation, the poor widow turned to Al-Shakiry Foundation for Social Solidarity to appeal to benefactors for assistance.

To help this family, they need:

- Monthly Orphan Sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month for each orphan (x4)

-An Educational Sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) per month to enable the children to continue their education.

- A Donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £1220) to buy a washing machine.
