Widow and her two orphan daughters appeal for compassionate assistance

Basra Branch Team visited the widow, Zohour J. A., in her home.

This family consists of the mother and her two daughters who live in a dilapidated, makeshift home lacking essential necessities, which they cannot afford to buy due to their poor financial situation.  Their only source of income is a small welfare benefit.

The father passed away five years ago, leaving the orphans in the mother's responsibility. The daughters are in full-time education—one in intermediate school, and the other in primary school.

The family struggles financially, and the burdens of a difficult life weigh heavily upon them. When the Team visited, the widow mentioned that they had been notified of the pending demolition of their house, as it had been built without permission.

To assist the family, they need:

- Ongoing Orphan Sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) per month per orphan (x2)

- A Donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine.

- A Donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a refrigerator.

We hope that people with generosity and goodwill reach out to assist the widow, and enable her and her orphans to live an improved lifestyle.
