Mother of three orphans appeals for assistance

Branch Staff undertook a Field visit to assess and report on the living conditions of the widow Sabiha H.H and her three children.

They live in temporary rented accommodation for which they pay a rental of 150,000 IQD (approx. £90) per month. 

Despite the family enduring extremely harsh living conditions following the death of her husband, Sabiha assumed full responsibility for the care of her orphaned children. She has no source of income other than the limited assistance she receives from charitable individuals. She suffers from an ongoing medical condition due to a 'hole in the heart' which has not healed post-surgery, and she requires medical check-ups and ongoing monthly treatment.

The family’s temporary shelter was demolished during a Violations Clearance Campaign.  They were left homeless until benevolent individuals intervened and provisionally covered the cost of renting accommodation. The family has since turned to the charity, appealing for support.

To assist this family, they need: 

- Monthly Orphan Sponsorship of 25,000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan, per month (x3)

- A Donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a refrigerator.

- A Donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a freezer. 

With the purchase of a refrigerator, freezer, and cooker, the mother will be able to improve her family’s standard of living, by working from home, in food preparation and marketing of her products.

We hope that generous brothers will provide assistance to this family in their urgent need.
