Postal staff have organised fundraising activities and volunteering their time for their local hospices. Activities have included sponsored chest and leg waxing, ladies head shaving, abseiling, sunflower wearing, running marathons and bike rides. Denyse Busby-Earle, Royal Mail Group Director of Engagement and Inclusion, said: "This contribution from Royal Mail has been made to boost and recognise the excellent work already done by our colleagues which is raising more and more money each month.
"In addition to the £250,000 raised by our people in fundraising activities so far, colleagues are also donating to local hospices and Help the Hospices directly through payroll giving, and have already given over £275,000." Indeed, hospices recently became the largest single beneficiary of payroll giving by Royal Mail Group's 193,000 employees, with the number of payroll donors increasing by 700% since the start of the partnership with Help the Hospices.
