Upon the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA), an Iraqi girl-child and family members accompanying her arrived in the UAE on Monday for medical treatment.

Tuqa Abdul Ameer is suffering from second degree burns resulting from one of the violent acts in Iraq.

Salih Al Mulla, acting secretary general of RCA, said the RCA had already begun facilitating all procedures necessary for the child to have the required medical treatment at Khalifa hospital where she is admitted.

Abdul Ameer Muhanna, father of the girl, hailed Sheikh Hamdan for this great humanitarian gesture. Tuqa also expressed her gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
