The US Ministry of Foreign affairs has organized a visit for a delegation of senior managers of companies in communications sector and advanced technology to Baghdad, for the first time since 2003.
The ministry's statement added that the delegation which arrived to Baghdad on Sunday morning, comprised of representatives from "Google", "Tweeter", " AT & T" and "Youtube", where they will examine the possibility of supporting the Iraqi government and civil society institutions in the area of using modern media technology.
The delegation will meet government officials, as well as representatives of public and private sectors in the areas of education and technology in addition to representatives of civil society organizations.
The visiting delegation will present ideas and suggestions of the ways to employ modern communication technology in developing Local Capabilities, and the promotion of fighting against financial and administrative corruption, and to encourage research methods of students at the schools, and strengthening civil society institutions, as well as linking local institutions with each other using modern means of communication via the Internet .
