The First Step Towards Caring for the Disabled in Iraq

The Department of Community Affairs which belongs to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in Iraq formed a committee to follow up the legislations and laws relating to disabled people.

 

An official source from the office notified the Press Section at the National Centre for Information that the aim of the committee is to care for the disabled and to provide the necessary support for them, in addition to proposing the proper mechanism for the care of the disabled and their support activities. He mentioned that the aforesaid committee will present its recommendations to the Council of Ministers for consideration. He added that the new committee is headed by Ibtisam Aziz Ali, the D G of Citizens Affairs with members from the Ministries of Work and Social Affairs, Youth and Sport, Municipalities, Public Works, Defence, Education, Health, Culture and Human Rights as well as the president of the Iraqi Disabled Gathering, Mr Muwafaq Tawfiq Hashim.
