A generous Iraqi resident in Sweden volunteers to sponsor 12 orphans and an Iraqi lady volunteers to employ a family of orphans.

Baghdad – Zayd Zahed

As Iraq’s Poor & Orphans Relief Foundation, of Mr Hussein Fadel Allah, presents its appreciation, and thanks to Mr Ameer al-Khalidy (Abu-Ah’med) for sponsoring 12 Iraqi deprived orphans, registered with the foundation, we hope this generous contribution continues to come from our Iraqi brothers and sisters to cover as many as possible of Iraq’s orphans, officially confirmed to be more than five million. Similarly, Iraq’s Poor & Orphans Care Foundation appreciably thanks Miss Oum Mortada, who presented the foundation with a decent amount of money to help an orphans’ family, by buying a sewing machine and a quantity of material for the family to support itself.

It has been reported that Iraq’s Poor & Orphans Foundation is going to establish an orphanage and a school for 1000 orphans in Baghdad.

Iraq’s Poor & Orphans Foundation, of Mr Mohammad Hussein Fadel Allah, is currently establishing and building an orphanage for 1000 male and female orphans in the Atifiyyah area, near Bratha mosque, in Baghdad. The orphanage will comprise a residential building and a school with its accessories to teach, discipline and care for the orphans.

The following is a brief profile on the activities of the Charitable Cooperative Foundation, which is part of Iraq’s Poor & Orphans Foundation:

Proceeding from the principle of social interdependence in our beloved country, the idea of establishing the Charitable Cooperative Foundation was formed in Baghdad, and followed by opening two branches in the Holy Najaf and Basrah. The main goal of the foundation is to sponsor and provide education, health care and financial help for the orphans until they reach the stage where they can depend on themselves and become educated, aware and productive in our society, which has deeply suffered in recent times, especially from the increasing number of fugitives and orphans, as a result of extremist thinking and governmental corruption. The foundation also provides support and financial aid to the elderly, the ill and fugitive families, according to their needs. The following figures show the number of the orphans, poor and fugitives according to recent statistics published by the foundation:

  • 3000 orphan families, among which the foundation distributes monthly wages across the country, from Karkouk to Basrah.

  • 1000 poor families.

In addition to this, the foundation looks after the ill and disabled by paying for the medical examinations and prescriptions prescribed by doctors, or through paying for the surgical operations and the costs agreed upon with the governmental hospitals as well as securing concessions from public hospitals. The foundation’s activity also includes the distribution of food, clothes, electrical appliances, breathing equipment and wheel chairs for the disabled, as well as helping married couples where applicable. Large amounts of food and money were spent during the holy month of Ramadan from donations collected during the previous two months.

The foundation’s resources are listed as follows:

  1. The contribution of the charitable foundation of the distinguished Mr Mohammad Hussein Fadel Allah in Lebanon, which provided financial help and support to the foundation as well as its foundational and social expertise.

  1. The donations given by the Iraqi brothers (those with jobs, shops and businesses) within Iraq to the orphans, the poor and the needy through sponsorship and helping out financially, emotionally and health wise.

  1. Donations from the exiled Iraqis who care for the well-being of the sons and daughters of their beloved country and the well-being of the country itself.

  1. There are also private earnings being distributed among those who own houses, businesses, shops and those who wish to help from all parts of Iraq.

Note:

The foundation is prepared to welcome any administrator or guest who wants to know more about the workings of the foundation at any time  . . . with appreciation.
