Walk for Iraq (www.walkforiraq.com) is a global movement that organises sponsored walks and fundraising initiatives for charitable organisations throughout Iraq. So far, with your support, over £71,000 has been donated to well established non-governmental organisations that provide to Iraqis in need: International Committee of the Red Cross, Refugees International, UNICEF and the Iraqi Orphan Foundation.
On this occasion, we would like to announce a fundraising initiative in cooperation with Masgouf restaurants in London to offer you a delightful experience of tasting traditional Iraqi cuisine during the last days of Ramadan (30 August to 8 September). 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the Iraqi Orphan Foundation (www.iraqiorphanfoundation.com), a UK registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of orphans in Iraq.
Currently there are 5,000 orphans receiving aid from the Foundation and there are a further 3,000 on the waiting list. Your support and generosity will help provide food, shelter and educational projects throughout Iraq.
For further contributions such as cash or cheque, please feel free to ask the managers at the restaurant for the donation box. Cheques need to be made payable to Iraqi Orphan Foundation.
