After much hard work two of our ICF member charities (the Shakiry's Charity for Social Solidarity and the Najaf Welfare Rights Centre) have been chosen to be part of a high-level committee along with the Iraqi Organisation for Justice, to promote an active dialogue with schools in the region.
Our Welfare Rights Centre in Najaf is one of the first organisations giving such talks to schools, allowing us to get to know first hand the problems faced by people with disabilities. In what turned out to be an unprecedented success, we visited schools to try to foster an atmosphere of social solidarity and respect for human rights.
There were also discussions with the schools' administration, focusing on the need to put in place future plans which could be used by Civil Society Organisations, educational watchdogs, and social researchers to assist students with problems.
Future plans include visits to schools to get to know first hand the problems faced by students, in particular those with special needs, as well as students with behavioural or learning difficulties. The schools were very grateful for the ideas, advice and information that we gave them about civil society organisations.
Help us give a better life to Iraqis with Disbilities by donating whatever you can to the Welfare Rights Centre for People with Disabilities
As with all ICF donations, we pay for the transfer and conversion fees so that all your money reaches those in need. Unlike most charities we have a 0% admin fee policy so that we can ensure the maximum benefit to those depending on us. We can only carry on with the work we do with your support. Donate Now.
