The Citizens Advice and Care Centre(Sadr City Branch) makes a qualitative leap and trains 360 residents within two months

Bagdad – Citizens Advice and Care Centre ( Sadr City Branch)

 

In the past two months, The Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Sadr City Branch) held several guidance, educational and professional courses, including teaching the art of tailoring, construction of clothing methods and hairdressing, in addition to tuition for pupils.  Some details below:

 

They held two tailoring courses (aim to teach women the methods of tailoring, construction of clothing). The first one started on – 29/04/2012 and contained 40 beneficiaries. While the other one started on 02/05/2012 and contained 35 beneficiaries, note that both courses are still running.

 

They held two hairdressing courses (aim to teach women haircut, dye and hairstyles). The first one started on – 11/04/2012 and contained 35 beneficiaries. While the other one started on 02/05/2012 and contained 30 beneficiaries, note that both courses are still running.

 

They held two workshops (tuition) aim to enhance English language and mathematics subjects, the first one started on 1/4/2012, and contained 70 students m/f. while the other one started on 4/5/2012. These lasted for two weeks to prepare students for exams.

 

On the other hand, The Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Sadr City Branch) has made other achievements , in the past two months, as below:

 

It ran a charity market including clothing, furniture and household items (donated from good people) in order to sell them to the poor families,

widows and divorced women. Note that the prices were symbolic, and the money was deposited at the “Relief Fund”, which was established a few months ago at Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Sadr City Branch), in order to provide help and jobs for destitute families.

 

Purchase and distribution of two wheelchairs. The first one was given to Haider Qasim on 20/05/201. And the other one was given at the same time to (Karima Kazem). In addition to repairing her house and building a bath room costing  about $400 in the past two months.

 

In the past two months, the “Relief Fund” has already made interest free loans of over four million Dinars, for the purpose of providing jobs for destitute families.

 

 

On 01/04/2012, Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Sadr City Branch) with the cooperation of Khilani charity institution have provided many services to residents of the area, including 60 beneficiaries.
