Citizens' Advice And Care Centre (Najaf branch)
The staff of the Najaf Advice Centre made an exploratory visit to the family of the youth Ahmed Riadh Aliwi in the Al-Askeri district and observed the health and living conditions of the family.
It appears that Ahmed,16 years old, is afflicted with hereditary muscular emaciation together with an emaciation of the nerves, these hereditary illnesses only effecting the males since Ahmed has three brothers all of them struck with the same affliction which ravages the family and paralyses its movement. Ahmed's sister is ill with diabetes of a severe type and the family has become like a gathering of virulent hereditary illnesses severe in their complexity and all of them untreatable, which all leads to weakening the material state of the family.
From the point-of-view of day-to-day life, the state of the family is very weak, being dependant on the head of the family who earns a daily wage barely adequate to cover daily living, not to mention responding to other daily needs.
And from the dwelling aspect, the family lives in extremely bad conditions, as the house is composed of two rooms with eight members in an open dwelling not protecting its inhabitants from the cold of winter nor from the intense heat of the summer.
