Dhi Qar - Citizens Advice And Care Centre (Nasiria branch)

The staff of the Citizens' Advice And Care Centre (Nasiria branch), represented by Mr Sultan Al-Jurani and volunteer Miss Huda Al-Nasri, and after combined co-ordination with Mrs Aml Al-Dijani (president of the Basheir Association of Feminine Guidance), travelled to the Suq Al-Sheiuk district which is about 37 kilometres distant form Nasiria town.

They visited the family of Um Majid Al-Mashurah with her handicapped family where they found the mother, who suffers from rheumatism in the feet, now unable to walk and also suffering from long-term eye sensitivity. They say that this mother, who lost her husband long ago, had seven handicapped children, three of them dying after a paralytic illness while the remaining four handicapped still alive suffer from paralysis of the limbs and from mental retardedness.

This mother and her four handicapped sons live in very bad living conditions and they lack the simplest necessities of life. On top of those necessities comes their need for a refrigerator, a heater, a cooker and a television in addition to treating the mother's feet and a monthly treatment for her eye sensitivity.
