Twenty-one year old Abbas from a modest family in Al-Nasiriyah complains of a congenital distortion of the neck which inclines severely to the left side of the body. He needs surgery to straighten the distortion according to the report of Doctor Wasim Majid Shakir.

After an exploratory visit performed by members of the staff of the Al-Nasiriyah Advice Centre to the family of the patient, Miss Huda Al-Nasiri went along to the specialist's surgery to hear a detailed explanation about the operation, its cost and the likelihood of success. The doctor emphasised the need for the patient to undergo more exact tests in Basra and to visit a surgeon there in order to become acquainted with the kind of operation required and the likelihood of success.

After the launching of an appeal for aid, on the 28/10/12 an English benefactor donated the sum of 150,000 Iraqi Dinars for the cost of transport from Al-Nasiriyah to Basra where he consulted a specialist. As a result of which Abbas left with a doctor's report confirming his need to undergo surgery costing 2 million Dinars in a private hospital.

So Abbas appeals to the good folk to help him get the necessary funds which will enable him to undergo surgery.
