Response to an appeal published on the following link:

A woman providing for her family by sewing was subjected to burns, and the state of her family has got worse and worse.

Mrs. Batoel Yahiah Sahibah received donations to the value of 180,000 Dinars from sister Walaa and brother Mohammed who are Iraqis living in the UK, together with another benefactor who donated 100,000 Iraqi Dinars.

Mrs Batoel was exposed to burns to her body in front of her little children while she was preparing a meal for them on her return to the house with the family ration of paraffin which stained her clothing and caused a gas leak setting fire to the upper part of her body, giving rise to multiple burns on her neck, hands, and shoulders. All that happened in view of her two little children who saw their mother burning in front of them, being unable to help her in

that difficult moment. On top of that this woman, who was sewing clothes to help her husband (a second-hand clothing seller) pay the house rent of 300,000 Dinars, due to her burns is now unable to practice her profession. The family, in turn, is unable to pay the rent and is now threatened with eviction unless any good folk intervenes to rescue them and pay their monthly rent of 250 Dollars.

The staff of the Citizens' Advice And Care Centre (Sadr City branch) has collected some assistance for this family which lives below the poverty line. The mother's case is being referred to medical committees with a view to undertaking the necessary operation whose date has been specified as being 21/4/13.
