On Saturday 9/2/13 a series of Health Advice Symposiums was inaugurated in the Al-Bayaa Advice Centre. The first health symposium held in Al-Bayaa City concerned a blood pressure illness, it is considered one of the diseases widespread and transmissible among members of the Iraqi society. A lecture was given by medical assistant Aliah Midrash, a worker at the Al-Bayaa Health Centre, which explained the illness, its causes and its symptoms, emphasizing that this disease is called the Silent Killer because it comes in some cases with no symptoms and is discovered by chance. She also illustrated the repercussions which lead to strokes, heart attacks or other complications.

Sister Aliah added: It is possible for any person to avoid this illness by a number of means, such as by following a healthy diet and taking special medicines according to a doctor's advice.

At the end of the symposium, a number of advice pamphlets (about the illness) were distributed to the beneficiaries, who numbered twelve.
